Borrow-Hold-Renew Books

Borrowing

  • Patrons with a valid Badya University ID card can borrow books from the circulation desk.

  • You are responsible for items borrowed using your ID. Do not allow others to use your ID card or borrow items on their behalf.

  • You can borrow the book(s) through these steps:
    1- To borrow books, visit the Libraries located in the Medicine building, room 016, or the Computer Science building, room 010.
    2- Bring your ID to the circulation desk.

- Items labeled with "[NB]" below are not available for borrowing.
- You can browse the library collection and access resources online through the website.

Note: 

  • For the Required Teaching books, faculty members can keep a copy during the semester.

  • Loan periods don't include official holidays, university closure periods, Fridays, Saturdays, scheduled breaks (such as summer, midyear, and study breaks), or any other closures announced by the University.

  • Rare books, reference materials, and special sources: Not for loan, used inside the library. 

Overdue Fines

  • The late fee is 10 L.E. per book per day, excluding weekends and holidays.

  • Maximum late fee: 300 L.E. Once this limit is reached, the account will be blocked from further borrowing.

  • If a book is lost or damaged, the borrower is charged the average cost plus a 25% processing fee.

  • In case of an emergency that prevents the timely return of books, please send an email.

  • How can student(s) pay?
    - The payment request paper is obtained from the library, then students go to the finance office located in the administration building to pay the dues, and finally go back to the library to finalize the process.

Lost/Damaged Items

  • If a book is lost or damaged, the borrower is charged the average cost plus a 25% processing fee. Borrowers who wish to replace the lost or damaged item themselves and have the cost of the item removed must email the library.

  • The library reserves the right to determine whether the copy submitted is acceptable (e.g., the same edition or an updated edition will be accepted, but not an older edition of the same book). If the copy is accepted, the cost of the item will be removed. Any applicable fines or other costs will remain in place even after the item is replaced.

Renewing

Books can be renewed On or Before their due date, as long as no hold has been placed on them. the borrower is responsible for tracking due dates and renewing on time you can renew your book(s) through various methods:

Holding

If all items for the needed book are checked out, circulation staff can place a hold on the item. Once the book is returned, a notification will be automatically sent to the patron by email, and the book will be held for pickup at the circulation desk for 2 days. you can hold book(s) through various methods: 

Returning

  • Borrowed books must be returned to the circulation desk from which they were checked out by the due date. Overdue items will be charged.
